Established in 1989, First Midwest Securities, Inc. (FMSI) began as a retail broker/dealer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. By 1990, FMSI grew to be a full-service brokerage firm and added representatives in the surrounding suburbs, as well as Madison and Chicago, Illinois. A major expansion process was undertaken in December 2001 to accommodate the growing needs of the ‘independent’ investment consultant. 

Due to the rapid expansion, the corporate office was relocated to Bloomington, Illinois. New alliances were formed, a nationwide fixed-income desk was added, and management re-aligned to continue our commitment to customer service, something for which FMSI is known.  We continue expanding throughout the continental United States and house an office in Italy.  

Customers are increasingly demanding unbiased advice from the financial services industry.  We believe independent brokers are the best channel positioned to offer this service.  An "open architecture" approach is the channel used by these brokers.  This approach allows brokers to provide access to a wide range of products and the choice of a variety of companies to their clients.
